For students wishing to have their oral presentation or poster evaluated for one of the student awards, please indicate your student status on the abstract submission form. There will be three awards for oral presentations and three awards for poster presentations.

If you indicate that you wish to be part of the student competition, please also have your supervisor send a letter supporting your candidacy for the award to Dr. Mark Shrimpton ( The student awards will be presented at the closing session on August 7, 2014. Students who compete for the awards are encouraged to attend.

For students wishing to apply for student travel awards, please submit an application to Dr. Mark Shrimpton ( Applications should include your name and the names of all other authors contributing to your presentation, the title of your presentation, a one page (maximum) extended abstract, and type of presentation (oral or poster).

Please also indicate which symposium you will be presenting in.

We also require a statement of financial need and a budget for your travel to present at the conference. Unfortunately we can not guarantee funding, but if funds are available, we will judge all applicants on merit.
